We’ve said it before and we will say it again – safety is one of the main concerns parents have when choosing a school, daycare centre, kindergarten or nursery in PJ.  Of course, there are other things which come into play when choosing a school, such as finding a school within the right budget and in the right location.  There are also other things to consider such as curriculum, additional classes and services, but in the light of recent news of daycare centres and schools being unsafe for children, a veil was pulled back which revealed the truth:  not all schools and daycare centres are what they appear to be.

A few years ago, news of a 2-year-old being struck repeatedly by a daycare facilitator swept Malaysia after being caught on a hidden video camera.  In 2012, a video from Johor surfaced showing nine babies in a room tightly wrapped in cloth with one baby having tape over their mouth.  These aren’t the only stories though – in 2013 two babies died in a daycare centre after being fed spoilt milk.

While a child’s safety should be common sense to teachers, nannies, school admin and other educational facilitators, this simply isn’t the case in Malaysia.  Aside from the physical, mental and emotional tourment a child may suffer, there are many other negative side effects too which can follow them for many years.

Statistics show when children are stressed or scared due to abuse, their academic performance suffers, and rightly so!  If a student doesn’t feel safe in their own classroom, it can be difficult to pay attention in class!  The fight or flight response is so heavy, it makes concentration very difficult.  This is something which is very close to our hearts.  A school should be a place of learning, exploration and discovery – and these things simply don’t happen if a child doesn’t feel safe.

This is where Little Humans Scholars Differs from Other Schools In Petaling Jaya

Little Human Scholars takes safety very seriously.  This is why they have full time guards at each of their locations, daily health checks, a low student-to-teacher ratio, and CCTV access in almost every room of the school (bathrooms and changing stations not included).  While many schools have CCTV access, they don’t extend this service to parents – this is where Little Human Scholars is different – the minute a child is registered at a LHS location, the parents have access to a phone application whereby they can log into the CCTV system and check in on their child any time of the day!  It is services like this which has eased the minds of weary parents in Petaling Jaya.  At LHS, safety comes first!

About Little Human Scholars School and Daycare Centre in PJ

Little Human Scholars is an all-in-one childcare solution.  It is a preschool, playschool, kindergarten, nursery and full day daycare centre (with extended hours) located in the heart of PJ.

In fact, the location is one of the things which makes Little Human Scholars so sought after – it is conveniently nestled near Jalan Gasing, University hospital, PJ Old town, PJ New town, Jaya One, Jaya33, and the PJ IT Mall.

The best part is LHS has premiere services many other schools in PJ don’t offer such as full day daycare with extended hours, CCTV access for parents, and a nifty little phone app called Toddlytic which provides parents with automatic updates on their child’s development, behaviour and health checks.

With full-time guards always present at each of their locations, access to CCTV (which is in every room except the office, bathroom and kitchen areas), and very strict pick-up and drop-off rules, Little Human Scholars treats every child who walks into it’s hallways as one of their own children!

This place has it all:  location, safety, health, IGSCE curriculum and play-based learning.  What more could you ask for?  Did I mention they also have transportation services and offer meal plans for students?  It doesn’t get any better than that.

If you are interested in a tour of one of our centres (that’s right, there’s more than one), all you need to do is fill out the form here or call +6017-7303-025 and an LHS administrative staff will get back with you shortly!
