Little Human Scholars is a private nursery, playschool and preschool in the heart of Petaling Jaya.  And now, you can come check us out at the 13th Annual Private International School Fair Happening this weekend!

Most parents face the challenge of trying to find the right school for their son or daughter.  Especially if it is the child’s first time in school, it can be a little nerve-racking for both them and you!  And while many parents find time to visit schools in and around Petaling Jaya, or Kuala Lumpur, it can be time-consuming.  This is why we are joining the fair – to make it easier for parents to find the right school which suits them and their children!  And while we encourage all parents to visit our booth, keep in mind that if you are clear on what kind of school you are looking for and its attributes, it will make the school-finding process much easier.

1st Rule – Know What You Want Out of a School in Malaysia!

Sitting down and writing out what you are looking for in a school can help you identify and find the right school for you and your child.  There are many things to consider, so we made a list for your convenience.

  1. Age range of students in the school

Some schools have children from Kindergarten all the way up to graduation, while others, like us, only offer services for children aged 2 months up to around 7 years old.  Be sure to ask the schools at the booths for the age range of their students!

  1. Location

Location plays a major factor for many parents residing in Malaysia.  Having a school close to home or work can cut down on time in traffic!

  1. Price range

If you are on a budget, be sure to know what that budget is before attending the fair.  This will help you narrow down which schools are easy on your wallet.

  1. School hours

Some schools offer early drop off which is convenient for working parents.  Be sure to ask and see if this is an option at potential schools!

  1. Sanitisation/Cleanliness

Having a clean and sanitised school is a reflection of the school’s culture.  Ask what a school’s sanitisation procedures are.  No one wants to start their child off at a new school only to have them home every other week due to illness!

  1. Discipline style of teachers

Discipline in Malaysia can be a tricky thing – ask the teachers and principals how they discipline their students.  Do they lean towards time-out or do they take other measures?  Make sure your discipline style is in alignment with the school.

  1. After-school activities

Some parents want to enrol their children in extra-curricular classes after school like singing, dancing or perhaps learning another language.

  1. Daycare

Daycare is a great option for full-time working parents.  While daycare is typically seen for children younger in age, be sure to find out if this additional service is something your school offers.

  1. Other services such as transportation, food menu, etc.

Some parents or single parents may need additional services.  Little Human Scholars offers additional services such as transportation and food for their students for an additional fee.  Keep in mind, not all schools offer these services, so be sure to ask!

  1. Daily schedule.

You may want to better understand what your child is learning day in and day out.  You may also want the option of popping by and having lunch with your child.  So be sure to ask for the school schedule!

  1. Reviews.

What have other parents said about the school?  Be sure to read through so you can better understand other parents’ experience with the school in question.

  1. Primary language spoken at the centre.

Depending on the school, the primary language can shift.  Be sure to ask what the primary language is at the various schools.

  1. Safety of the school

Is the school guarded or gated? Are there procedures in place for pick up?  Kidnapping is a very real thing in Malaysia, and safety should not be an afterthought in our opinion.

About Little Human Scholars Kindergarten in PJ

Little Human Scholars is an all-in-one childcare solution.  It is a preschool, playschool, kindergarten, nursery and full day daycare centre (with extended hours) located in the heart of PJ.

In fact, the location is one of the things which makes Little Human Scholars so sought after – it is conveniently nestled near Jalan Gasing, University hospital, PJ Old town, PJ New town, Jaya One, Jaya33, and the PJ IT Mall.

The best part is LHS has premiere services many other schools in PJ don’t offer such as full day daycare with extended hours, CCTV access for parents, and a nifty little phone app called Toddlytic which provides parents with automatic updates on their child’s development, behaviour and health checks.

With full-time guards always present at each of their locations, access to CCTV (which is in every room except the office, bathroom and kitchen areas), and very strict pick-up and drop-off rules, Little Human Scholars treats every child who walks into its hallways as one of their own children!

This place has it all:  location, safety, health, IGSCE curriculum and play-based learning.  What more could you ask for?  Did I mention they also have transportation services and offer meal plans for students?  It doesn’t get any better than that.

If you are interested in a tour of one of our centres (that’s right, there’s more than one), all you need to do is fill out the form here or call +6017-7303-025 and an LHS administrative staff will get back with you shortly!

Cheers,

Jana Moreno
